Get Stamping magazine review...

Whilst browsing the craft magazines in my local WHSmiths (and realising I have way too many subscriptions!) I came across a new magazine. Get Stamping is the newest magazine published by practical publishing (www.practicalpublishing.co.uk) I am a huge lover of stamping and already have a massive collection but as any stamper knows you can never have enough! And that is exactly what drew me in to Get Stamping. Each issue comes with a free stamp set worth over £10! The magazine is filled with lots of projects and ideas of how to use your free stamps including cardmaking, scrapbooking, art journaling and more!

Editor Stephanie de Geus and her team have created a fantastic range of projects that cover all occasions and have made one of the best crafts magazines I have found to date. (And I have read a LOT of craft magazines! So that is quite a compliment!)

Issue one came with this stamp set AND the acrylic block and ink. (Amazing value as the magazine only cost £7.99, totally worth it!)

Not only is the magazine full of great projects but also hints and tips of how to look after your stamps, how to chose inks and tools, and guides to techniques that help take your cards from beginner to intermediate to advanced level. It also has new on latest products, websites, stockists and events.

What I really love about the magazine is all the projects included in the magazine use one or more of the stamps free with the magazine. This is a great way of building your skills as a stamper/crafter and shows how versatile just one stamp set can be!

Here is the first project that I have made using my free stamp set...

The ink was lovely to use, often free ink pads can be dry and hard to stamp with, this one however was a joy to use and an excellent quality of ink.

The stamps print perfectly clear with even ink coverage and no cracks or uneven lines.

My variation on the project in the magazine. This was so quick to make as the stamps did all the work for me. It only took me ten minutes to make the completed card (and envelope which I stamped with the moustache) I love the finished result!

Issue two of Get Stamping is out now! And I shall be picking up my copy in the morning! X

Pretty nails with Crafty Creatives...

I am loving this trend of nail beads! There are so many different ones about. But this months crafty creatives box 11 (and last months CCbox10) had some glitter beads inside so I thought I would have a go with those! Here is the result!

I went for a subtle sophisticated look but you could try them out like these I found...

So give it a go! And have fun! X

CCbox11 makes...

First couple of quick makes with box 11... A pair of earrings for my mother-in-laws birthday and some embossed wrapping paper to wrap them in!

I love the Swarovski crystals! Might invest in some more!

I used to use this technique many years ago when I studied fashion at college. I used my lace stamp from box 11, my silver ink and some embossing powder (also silver) oh and my heat gun! Simple, easy and beautiful!

What's in the box????

Art Card - Artist Lianne Williams brings us our art card this month and it certainly fits the theme! Check out her website www.liannewilliams.com for more of her amazing work!

CC Kit - I am loving this months kit! How to make a gorgeous decorative beaded hair clip. I have been making quite a few hair clips/bows recently so this is perfect!

Beaded Fluffy Trim - Very 1920's would look amazing on a bag or to finish off a cushion?

10 Swarovski crystal beads in a velvet pouch - WOW! How amazing are these! I think I've received light rose! Or maybe vintage rose? Anyway they are pink! I like the sound of the other colours too though...(emerald green and crushed silk) which did you get out of the four?

Photo glue - I use ridiculous amounts of this stuff! And I've run out so I am glad to have this in the box :)

8 Star dust beads - These are so beautiful and very glam indeed!

Lace stamp - My fave item in the box! I absolutely LOVE stamping and I can't wait to use this!

Ink pad - I got silver! I actually own a full set of these inks already! So I can use all five colours that were in the boxes this month! (Black, red, gold, silver and pink) which did you get???

Bag of metallic stardust - do I dare put this on my nails???? I think I do!

Fat quarter of black velvet - so so much I can do with this! Bag, bow, flower...

Red rose pendant - again so many uses but I think mine will prob end up on a hair clip.

Pair of silver plated rhinestone faceted teardrops - will def be turned into earrings!

Plus.. Crafty essential; a set of findings to make earrings with and some jump rings too!

Baby girl shirred dress...

This dress was inspired by the Crafty Creatives spots and stripes box! I used the striped red and white fabric that I received in my box.

I had so much fun making this dress! After watching the great British sewing bee I decided it was time to start making clothes again. This dress was featured on the show and needs no pattern! I added spotty pockets and straps to mine. And I also decided to do French seams as it is for a baby. So many people have asked me to make these for their little girl and I can't wait to make more!

Crafty Creatives Blue makes....

Just a quick post to show some of the things I have made with Box 10. I really loved this box and found it hard to put the fabric down!

I love my new pin cushion! So easy to make and very useful!

This is a bag but it isn't quite finished yet, I need to add a chain and some sort of flower embellishment to finish it off.

A quick coaster I made so I can put my coffee safely on my desk to keep me up all night crafting away!

My jumping clay creations! This stuff is amazing and I will definitely be purchasing some more! It was so easy to mould with and blending the colours was a piece of cake!

Thank you for reading, box 11 arrives next week! So watch this space!
