Joshua's christingle!

Today was Joshua's school christingle! We took bags of oranges in for them to make their christingles with at school and Joshua could tell me what all the parts of the christingle meant. Christingle is one of my favourite christmas events. I love that everyone comes together to celebrate and we all sing together and light our candles. The smell in our church is amazing once they are all lit! It's a real family event too and has become tradition for his Nana (my husbands mother) to join us in celebrating too. I hope you enjoys the pics!

Bath bombs!

I was so excited about the CCBox 6 kit that I had to make it straight away! It was super easy to do and smells great! I wrapped it up in layers of pink tissue paper and used the white wool from the box to secure it. Then added a pink flower embellishment to finish! Perfect little extra gifts for christmas!

Pom-Pom book mark

My little boy loved this! He is a very keen reader so I decided to make him a book mark. I used the wool from CCBOX 6 to make the Pom-Pom and some Christmas cards stock to compliment the white snow ball like Pom-Pom. I love how it's turned out!

Joshua sending out Christmas wishes!

I love how creative my little boy is and this year he wanted to write all his Christmas cards himself! No so little any more!

Wisbech Christmas Fair!

Today was my towns Christmas fair. It was a lovely day and great to see the whole town coming together getting into the Christmas spirit! There were lots of stalls full of Christmas gifts and Christmas food! Children from some of our towns schools sang Christmas carols. We saw santa, a clown and made friends with two men on stilts! There were bands and music playing all day and my little Summer-Rose even had a dance! The best part of the day for myself were the reindeer! We even got to feed them and it made the whole day even more Christmassy! I hope you enjoy the pictures. What does your town do for Christmas?

It's that time again and I have received my crafty creatives box 6 and the theme is Icy! It couldn't be more perfect for the time of year an was exactly what I needed this month to finish off my Christmas crafting!

Its hard to believe i have been receiving this wonderful box for six months! I don't know how Claire and Isobel do it but every month the boxes are getting better and better and the kit in this box is definitely my favourite so far! I'd like to just say a huge thank you to them both and wish them a very happy christmas and look forward to what the new year will bring to our boxes!

So... What's in the box???

•Art card - this months art card is by Eleanor Carter (www.eleanorcarter.com)

Jingle all the way...

This will definantly be hanging off my tree this year! I used the wreath ring from CCBox 5. I love how it turned out, only problem is I want to make loads now! Only one ring left... Hmm what colour shall I make that one???

All wrapped up!

Again using the German scraps from CCBox 5 but this time I added them to some of my Christmas wrapping! I tied up a few sticks of the cinnamon and glued them to the top to finish it off. (and smell great!)

He's coming...

I am really loving the German Christmas scraps from CCBox 5! I had this card done in minutes!

Edging scissors...

Here I used my edging scissors from CCBox 5 to create a few background layers. Edging scissors can be so useful for many different projects from cards to gift wrapping and even for painting your nails! (I shall be trying this over the weekend)

Festive Ribbon...

Love this little card I made using the ribbon from CCBox 5. I also used one of the little bells too!

Alice In Wonderland...

So... Stuck some Michael Jackson on my iPhone (could there be anyone more inspirational???) and opened up my CCBox5 and the first thing that caught my eye was the alice in wonderland postcard. I decided to make a card with it and I also used one of the cute little keys from box 4. I thought it was quite fitting with Alice in wonderland. Hope you like the result!

And a few pics in colour too...

CCBox 5.... Nostalgia

I have been really poorly this week so when I woke up and my Husband passed me a pink package I cheered up straight away! This months box is just right for the time of year. With just a hint of Christmas it is perfect. What I like most about this months box is you can see how the Crafty Creative team have listened to our views from the survey of what we would like in our boxes. I love that there is more paper craft items in this box and my son had already pinched the scissors!

So what's in this months box?
•Art card by Jo Askey
•CC Kit - this one actually terrifies me! But I shall give it a good go!
• Nostalgic printed fabric by Karen at Blueberry park
• 1.5m festive ribbon - I love this!
• Vintage style Alice in wonderland postcard
• Jingle bells! - my favourite item!
• 3 carousel pendants
• Mini tea cup and saucer
• 2 card layers
• 2 wreath rings
• Wooden girl and bunny
• Edging scissors
• Bunch of cinnamon sticks - perfect smell for Christmas!
• Sheet of Christmas scraps - I also love these! Would be great for decoupage?

Tutu for Halloween!

I made this today for my little girl Summer who is 18 months as part of her cat Halloween costume! I really love how it's turned and and she does too! All you need is some elastic, netting and lace. (which I used from my CCBox4!) there is no sewing involved at all and it was very quick to make. This is yet another project I have sourced from the wonderful world of pinterest! I have pinned this on my pinterest so if you love the idea as much as me you can find it on my pinterest at http://pinterest.com/cardsbymrsg

Crafty Creatives spooky Box 4!

The Crafty Creatives Box 4 arrived last week and the theme this month was Gothic! It has to be my favourite box so far! Yet again it was full to the brim with goodies! This month we received...

• The CC Kit - perfect for halloween a masquerade mask kit!
• 3 large purple resin flower beads (one of my faves!)
• 1 large silver winged pendant
• 1 glass cabochon with a gothic frame setting
• 8 mini skull beads
• 10 silver studs
• 2+2 metres of satin and organza ribbon
• vintage gothic and Halloween pictures
• 2 gothic windows
• a 50 cm strip of spider web mesh
• 2 decorative ring blanks
• a bundle of cruelty-free feathers
• 2 mini gothic keys (love these!)
• 1 fat quarter of black lace
• 50cm of black non-woven fabric
...plus lots of Halloween confetti sprinkled through the box! Plus each box contains an art card which this month featured a rather spooky drawing from www.carrionhouse.com also this month the paper it was all wrapped up in inside the box was a lush red rose pattern so u shall be using that too!

I have so many ideas for this box I really don't know where to start! I'm going to make a tutu for my little girls Halloween costume (she is going to be a cat!) with the lace and the beautiful purple resin flowers will perhaps go on a card or two along with the keys and windows! My little boy (Joshua, 5) has asked for the green spider web mesh so I am interested to see what he make with that too!

I hope you all enjoyed opening this box as much as I did and hope it helps you all have a very Happy Halloween!

Earring stand/up-cycle frame

I found this idea on pinterest a few weeks ago and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to make one! It was so easy to do all you need is a picture frame, some paints, wire, and a stapler! Discard the glass and backing from the frame and paint it (the frame) the colours of your choice! Then all I did was twist some wire together and cut three lengths of it. Staple to the back of the frame and your done! I made this one for my sisters birthday present as she has lots of delicate dangly earrings. It's her birthday today and she loved it! Now to make one for me...

Good luck card

Oriental good luck card using some of the items out of CCBox4. (sign up at www.craftycreatives.com) I used the pages from the Chinese new year fortune book, red cord, Chinese coin and black ink (I used this to do the symbol in the centre which reads good luck...hopefully anyway!) hope you like it!

CCBox3 Oriental!

This is the third box from Crafty Creatives. The theme this month was oriental! Once again the box is full to the brim with goodies! I can't believe we get all this each month for just £10!!!!

Inside this box we received;

• CC Kit - Asian book binding
• 3 Chinese coins
• Chinese symbol sheet
• black ink
• 1 sheet of oriental peel-offs
• 1 wooden kokeshi doll
• 3 sheets of origami paper
• 1 fat quarter of Chinese brocade fabric
• 1 large cinnabar bead
• 3 pages from a Chinese new year fortune book
• 4 metres of red cord
• set of needles
• fortune cookie!

I love the red cord and Chinese coins and these will be transformed, along with the pages from the Chinese new year fortune book, into a few cards I think! I also love the red carved cinnabar bead although I have no idea what I'm going to do with it???

Each box comes with a different kit and this month its something I've not done before, Asian book binding. I'm looking forward to having a good go at this and learning yet another new skill through the Crafty Creatives team!

Some of the items in this box I am struggling for ideas with so I shall head over to the Crafty Creatives website/blog for inspiration. I also use pinterest for inspiration too!

Happy Crafting!

Wedding card binder!

This is a great idea if you like to keep all your special cards like me! I used the Crafty Creatives box two items to make this and I love it! Our wedding theme was nautical so the items i used from box two were perfect! All you need to do is make a front cover for your binder and punch holes through it for the binder rings (and punch holes in all the cards) and there you go! An easy and lovely way to keep all your cards safe, and practical for when you want to have a look through them!
