I had so much fun making this dress! After watching the great British sewing bee I decided it was time to start making clothes again. This dress was featured on the show and needs no pattern! I added spotty pockets and straps to mine. And I also decided to do French seams as it is for a baby. So many people have asked me to make these for their little girl and I can't wait to make more!

Baby girl shirred dress...
This dress was inspired by the Crafty Creatives spots and stripes box! I used the striped red and white fabric that I received in my box.

Crafty Creatives Blue makes....
Just a quick post to show some of the things I have made with Box 10. I really loved this box and found it hard to put the fabric down!
I love my new pin cushion! So easy to make and very useful!
This is a bag but it isn't quite finished yet, I need to add a chain and some sort of flower embellishment to finish it off.
A quick coaster I made so I can put my coffee safely on my desk to keep me up all night crafting away!
My jumping clay creations! This stuff is amazing and I will definitely be purchasing some more! It was so easy to mould with and blending the colours was a piece of cake!
Thank you for reading, box 11 arrives next week! So watch this space!

CCBOX 10...
It's here! I can't believe we are at box ten already! Two more months and its the crafty creatives birthday!
This months theme is... BLUE!
So what's in the box I hear you say!
•Art Card: I love the pretty picture on this months art card, created by the talented Catherine Moody. Visit her website at www.catherinemoody.co.uk
•CCKIT: Make your own bluebird mobile. I love this and it doesn't look too tricky either!
•Felt balls: All the way from Nepal, in shades of blue of course! Would be nice on a piece of jewellery or maybe a card...
•Glitter and seed beads from stix2: the beads would be great on some jewellery and the centre tube of fine glitter balls would look lush on my nails!
•Mini blank canvas: so many possibilities! Not sure what I shall create yet!
•Three 59ml pots of premium Americana acrylic paint from DecoArt: three great shades of blue. I am thinking of painting a wooden trinket box for my daughter.
•Selection of tiny blue glass beads from Musha Makes: Think I might use these on the canvas board maybe???
•Jumping Clay: This looks so exciting! I've never seen this before so I'm looking forward to trying it.
•Sheets of a5 blue card and paper: the textures of these are fab and will def be featuring on a card!
•Fat quarter of 100% cotton fabric: I live the pretty pattern I received! Might make a nice little purse!
•Two Bluebird pendants: def going on a summer necklace! Or maybe a bracelet...
As usual the box is packed full of great quality products, and I can't help wonder what the birthday box will be filled with??? Only one more box until we are on the birthday box... Will the crafty creatives team go with a birthday theme? Or maybe an item from each of the previous boxes?
Now off to make a purse with that lush fabric I think... First things first though, kettle on!

Apron and matching hair clip...
It was my sons friend Lena's Birthday yesterday and this is what I made her. Her mother had mentioned that she wanted a play apron so I thought I would give it a go! The trim was a bit tricky but I got there in the end! I love making hair clips so I made her one to match her apron. Hope you like them!

Happy Easter... My new machine and a few quick makes...
Happy Easter everyone! I hope you are all having a chocolate filled day!
I thought I would share with you all my brand new sewing machine! Even the lady that delivered my machine said she was jealous as she has wanted one since Christmas!
I have already started sewing on it and I am surprised how much I can actually remember! I started with a few quick and easy makes. A pin cushion (every sewer needs one!) and a little gift set for my niece for Easter! She loves floral things like any little girl! And hair clips. So i decided to make her a little drawstring bag, flower hair clip and a little stuffed heart with the scrap material. I think she will love them!

Heart key Ring made with CCBox 9...
This isn't great but I gave it a go! I'm waiting for my new sewing machine to arrive so I hand stitched all of this! It's not perfect, but I still love it.
I started by cutting two hearts from the beautiful sparkly fabric in box 9. Then two more hearts from the brown leather. I turned the bigger heart over so the back of the leather was facing up, just for another texture. I then used fabric tac (from box 1, floral) to glue the two leather hearts together and onto one piece of the fabric. Once this was dry I placed the two large hearts back to back and pinned them in place.
Next you need to make the key ring part. I used the leather cord from box 9 to attach the heart and key ring together. Remember to place the key ring part inside your pinned heart so when you turn it the right way the key ring is on the right side.
Then I stitched it all together leaving a small gap to turn it out the right way, stuffed with wadding and sewed up the hole and voila! Done!
These would make great gifts and I have already had a few people ask me to make them one!

CC BOX 9... STEAMPUNK
Firstly I'd just like to say sorry for the delay in posting this (and any other post for that matter!) I have been in the middle of switching jobs and as you can imagine with two small children this was a bit hectic to say the least!
Now to this months Crafty Creatives box!
This months box was a Steampunk box! Instantly I loved this box! There is just something about clockwork and crafting that fits so well together.
Inside the box...
• Art Card by Britta Van Den Boom from Germany. http://indirie.deviantart.com
• CC KIT - decoupage your own trinket box, can't wait to try this!
• 3 metres of leather brown cord. Maybe a bracelet???
• Pipe spacer beads - hmm... Bit stuck with these???
• Bottle of crackle glaze - this stuff is amazing!
• metallic transfer foils - haven't used these before but def be going on a card.
• Bundle of leather scraps - I have lots of ideas for these.
• Reel of wire - mine is copper which I love, thinking of making some bubble wands with this!
• Bulb and clock charms - how cute are these! Maybe with the cord and leather to make a necklace.
• Lock clasps - will possibly end up on a card.
• Watch parts - no idea what to do as they are so tiny but I love them!
• Brown tweed fabric with metallic copper twist - there is so much here which is fantastic! Might have a go at making a Steampunk collar.
This box is so very different to all the others, it's really taken a step back in time! The Crafty Creatives team never fail to surprise me! If your not signed up... Why not! Visit www.craftycreatives.com and join in the creativity!
